Okuri Inu (Japanese Mythology)
An Okuri Inu is a dog and wolf-like yokai that stalks lone travelers on mountain passes or forests. A person that is able to leave the area safely will no longer be followed by the yokai, but should the traveller trip, the Okuri Inu pounces onto them and tear them to shreds.
